OVERVIEW
We are not currently offering any winter rentals. We will update this page once we start offering winter rentals for the 2026/27 winter season.
Our Snowboard Sizes Range from 70 cm to 165 cm; Snowboard Boots range from Child 10 – Men 13.
Our Skis Sizes Range from 70 cm to 185; Ski Boots sizes range from Child 9 – Men 14.5.
Rentals are on a first come first served basis! You can expediate the process by filling out a Liability for everyone in your party before you come in!
Collins Lake Gold Card Guests receive an additional 20% off rentals and tours, including multi-day rentals! This discount does NOT apply to guests staying at Collins Lake Resort through Vacasa, AirBnB etc.

Rental Timing & Reservations: At Mt. Hood Outfitters, we do things a little differently to keep your experience laid-back and stress-free. We do not offer late-day discounts or next-day pick-ups, and we do not take advance reservations – and here’s why:

No "After 3pm" Rush: Our rental rates are per day (open to close) no matter when you arrive. Unlike other shops, we don’t encourage a 3pm rush by offering a cheap half-day. This means you won’t find our shop suddenly packed at day’s end – a more relaxed experience for you and our staff. Come rent whenever it’s convenient for you during the day, and you’ll get the same fair price and unrushed service. -
Morning Peace of Mind: We open at 9:00 AM, when the ski lifts start turning. We choose not to open at 7am or take overnight reservations because we want to avoid the frenzied early-morning crowd. Our guests tend to be those who value a calm start to their ski day. By beginning at 9am, we can give each customer personal attention without the stress of a huge pre-lift line. Rest assured, we have plenty of gear available – even without reservations. -
No Pre-Set Gear or Reservations: We operate on a first-come, first-served walk-in basis. When you rent from us, you’ll get fitted on the spot and take the equipment with you immediately. We do not set up equipment ahead of time, even if you’ve paid, and we don’t hold gear for future pickup. This policy ensures our team can focus on the customer in front of us, delivering great service without juggling online reservations or pre-fits. It also gives you flexibility – you can decide to ski last-minute, and we’ll get you outfitted on the same day. -
Easy Multi-Day Rentals: Our multi-day pricing is extremely competitive by design. If you need gear for several days, we’ve got you covered at a better rate than most. For example, if you rent for two days, you pay a reduced add-on rate for the second day – so there’s no need to delay your pickup to save money. Grab your gear when you arrive (even if it’s mid-day) and hit the slopes! We also allow after-hours returns via our secure locker system. If you’re out for night skiing or can’t make it back by closing, just leave your equipment in a locker by 8am the next morning.
We prioritize a smooth, friendly rental experience over maximum throughput. By eliminating the end-of-day bargain hunters and pre-dawn rush, we create a welcoming environment for our guests and staff alike. Come in when you’re ready to play, and we’ll get you geared up with a smile – no stress, no stampedes, no hidden timing gimmicks. We believe this approach leads to happier skiers and riders!

2 Hour Snowshoe Tour -

ALL DRIVERS MUST CARRY A VALID DRIVERS LICENCE WHILE ON THE TRAILS. The Forest Service patrols the trails just like the highways. -
Tour reservations must be made and accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license that is over 21 years old. -
The driver of each snowmobile must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver’s license and weigh at least 100 lbs. Minors are not allowed to drive. -
In order to have a passenger on board drivers must be at least 18 years old. -
Passengers must be at least 8 years old 48" in height. NO EXCEPTIONS! -
Recommended weight limit on a double seat machine is 350 lbs. and drivers will need to weigh more than the passenger. If there is too much weight on the machines, the shocks will be absorbed and it will be very bumpy and uncomfortable for the person riding on the back. It can also cause additional wear and damage to the machines.
What To Bring
Snow pants and jacket, waterproof mid-layers, socks and hat, waterproof gloves and boots, neck warmer or face mask, hand sanitizer, water, snacks. Optional hand & toe warmers, change of clothes.
what to wear
You will want to dress for a day on the snow, just like you were going skiing or snowboarding. We recommend water resistant/waterproof coat, pant, boots, and gloves. If you do not have the proper gear, we do have limited supplies of boots and outerwear items at our shop. We do not rent gloves but we have gloves for sale.
We provide helmets for all trips. If you have your own helmet that you prefer to wear, it must be one that is approved by the Department of Transportation (DOT). You cannot wear a ski or bike helmet while snowmobiling.

We are located in a Snow-Zone where you must carry Chains or Winter Tires.

No, but we do not typically run out of equipment!
No charges will be seen on your card unless you cause damage to Ski/Board, Boots, & Binding. Prior to departure and upon return you and the guide will inspect the ski and snowboard. You will be responsible for any and all damages to ski and snowboard.
No, but we do offer discounted rated for multiple days. 3 day rental is $120, each additional day beyond that is $25.
We are the busiest around Winter Break. Our rush typically starts around 10:30-11 am on weekends! It is very snow-dependent as well!
